Yes, I do sew. Please wipe that shocked expression off your face! Don't make me poke you with that needle and sew your mouth closed!
I made my first quilt when I was in 8th grade, back in around 1987 to 1988. It was a patchwork quilt in bold, bright colors: green, blue, purple, red, orange and yellow. I cannot remember how long it took me to make that quilt, but I do remember I got a good grade for it. It is still in one piece, but parts of it is fraying where the yarn is tied into the fabric. Hmm, I need to make another quilt that I'll use on a daily basis.
I have started up to 26 quilts, only more than half of them are finished. For my Eagle Scout project and with the help of other volunteers, I had 10 quilts tied together and delivered to 2 locations. 8 of them were tie-dyed before being put together. These 8 quilts were sent to the Ronald McDonald's House in Phoenix. The other 2 quilts were high quality fabrics quickly sewn and tied together. These 2 were sent to Goodwill for their holidays deliveries. If I could do the project again, I'd do it. It's really fun working with everyone!
I have taught a community education course in quilting. We worked on 2 quilts: ragged quilt and quick-n-crazy quilt. It was a good learning experience in teaching a quilt class for the first time, even without an interpreter! Whew! Good experience.
I'll add more quilting details later. For now, enjoy looking at the pic of my 2 quilt blocks I made today!
