Yay! I just popped my poi cherry tonight!

It's March 3, 2006... And it's my first time to spin poi with fire! I planned and expected to do my first spinning poi with fire during Spring Break when Vee, Gnarly and her hubby are here with me and Maurice. It was so sudden and spontaneous because I happen to be there with my poi. I was more tense and nervous than I was without fire. But I know if I do it again, I won't be as nervous. I ended up doing alright first round. Then second round, I got suddenly tired and worn out from anxiety and thirst, I couldn't do more spinning. I singed off my hair on my right arm and also just a little bit of my hair from the back of my head.

The pictures you see right now.. One is a pic of me with my poi posing as my cherries soaking wet from lamp oil. You can see my old pants and shoes. The next pic is of a guy in some kind of a fire retardant jumpsuit. He's kinda new here, so I dunno who he is. The rest of the pics are of the one and only - Frogotopia! He is SOOOOOOOO great with poi! I hope I can be as good as he is, but with my own style. Thanks for the special night, Maurice! ;) Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!

It's weird that I was 3rd person to perform spinning fire. Three is my favorite and lucky number. And, tonight?? It's the 3rd night of the 3rd month! Isn't that an odd coincidence? I saw the moon setting to the West.. Tonight, it looked like it was smiling.

Also, VeeKoz is SO disappointed she wasn't there to see me do it for the first time. I just realized it's sort of our thing and that bond... *sigh* I'm sorry, babe! I got you a gift, so please forgive me, ok? Enjoy Pennsylvania! ;)

Gnarlydorkette and her hubby, don't worry! You'll still get a chance to see me spin fire! I want the practice first with fire because I don't want to scare you with my flamin' nuts! LOL! See you guys in less than a couple weeks!
