where should I move to? and why?

Please keep in mind that I am taking the following into consideration:
  • accessibility with the area's Deaf community
  • standard of living (cost of rent and food)
  • quality of the area's mass transit (I got no car)
  • number of job opportunities
  • quality of college/university and their services
After you make your vote, please comment why you made the vote. I would love to have as much coverage as I can get! Thanks, guys! ;)

Hey!

Hmm.. to be honest I don't know much any of these cities even tho I have been to every of these places.

But if I have to choose based on your questions, I would say Denver.

I went there a few years ago and I fell in love with the city. So beautiful! Have pretty good mass transit in downtown area. Their rent and food costs are very reasonable compare to LA (of course) and also Philadelphia, it's not cheap to live.

For Deaf Community in Denver, I'd say it's big and good deaf community, I'm not 100% sure, though but I believe for sure.

For job opportunities, this is hard question because I haven't applied to any of these places so I can't answer to this.

Hope that helps?! :-D Please keep me posted!

Oh by the way, of course South Baltimore has strong deaf community compare to others since it's much closer to DC, ha ha.

I wouldn't pick Denver or Phoenix.

Los Angeles
Philadelphia
South Baltimore

The rest look like decent choices. They all have a deaf school in the area, they all have a sizeable deaf community, and they all are relatively larger cities with better mass transit options (Denver may be alright in this aspect). On top of that, they should offer plenty of cultural events to keep you entertained - whether they be in the arts, restaurants, and other stuff. Denver and Phoenix won't be able to offer as much in the arts.

So I would rank it as a 3 way tie, then Denver then Phoenix last.

Umm, when was the last time you've been to Phoenix? :) Many Deaf people have been moving to Phoenix.

I find it odd that you say Phoenix does not have cultural events, because I have been to the Phoenix's Desert Botanical Gardens, state fair, Japanese festival, Polynesian festival, Deaf Awareness festival, Gay & Lesbian festival, and Science fair. I know I am missing some of the other festivals because I haven't looked hard enough. They also have a great art museum, Japanese Friendship Gardens, and Old Town Scottsdale. There's the good ol' Salt River where the Deaf Arizonans and friends gather for the Memorial weekend for tubing and camping. Did you know there are at least 2 Deaf schools in Phoenix metropolitan area?

I am from Phoenix and happen to know it is a cultural melting pot and a bumping place to be. Their mass transit system will have a light rail added within a year. They have great dance clubs and bars that you will not find elsewhere. Have you tried going to Charlie's?

Even though I am originally from Phoenix, I want to experience other cities before I do go back to Phoenix.

I've been to Denver once and they had a good group of Deaf people. The whole time I was visiting there, I was kept busy with touring museums, scenic routes, the town of Golden (HGTV.com was there to film a show about male quilters), Six Flags, and skiing resorts.

I was considering in this order:
Denver
Philadelphia
Phoenix
South Baltimore
Los Angeles

I had an incident with a couple of police officers last Saturday in South Baltimore, so scratch that off.

I know for sure that every city and town have their benefits which other cities or towns do not share.

I'll be vlogging or blogging about my decision soon on where I will live.
