For people who are closing their AOL accounts: Umm, I did a little research and found out the answer to your soon-to-be-dead-AOL-screennames.. Did you know that you can change your AOL screenname to AIM screenname and still keep it?? Before you cut your AOL service, you will need to download AIM 5.5 from http://www.aim.com and install. Try using AIM and use your AOL screenname and password, enter.. A buddy List will open up.. Then on the computer's taskbar, you would need to click on that blue, round 'e' icon that will start up the Internet Explorer (not in AOL browser!), copy the following address and paste to the location bar in IE: https://aim.aol.com/password/change_password.adp Enter your AOL screenname and type in old, new and verify passwords, approve the changes. Then go back to the AIM 5.5 program, sign off, then log back on with the old screenname and new password. Do NOT use AOL EVER again with the changes! You will still have your AOL screennames as AIM screennames!! You won't have to make a new one unless you want to.. When you do make the changes to AIM, your email would be (yourscreenname)@netscape.net, you would need to activate the email account if you plan on using Netscape's Webmail. It's at http://my.netscape.com and click the email icon on the homepage, enter your screenname and new password, then it is activated! Goodluck! :thumb:
